1. Acceptance and eligibility
By accessing or using RokCode Academy (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes the organization.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are between 16 and 18 years old, you may use the Service only with permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. The Service is intended for general programming education and is not designed for children under 16.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service, including any course content, learning paths, or subscription features.
2. Service description
RokCode Academy provides online educational materials related to programming and software development. This may include written lessons, exercises, project checklists, learning paths, downloadable resources, and updates to existing materials. The Service is accessible through the website and is designed to support independent learning.
Some features may require a paid subscription or plan selection as presented on the Pricing page. We may also offer free preview content in the Courses section.
The Service is educational. We do not provide hiring services, do not promise employment outcomes, and do not guarantee that completing a course or path will result in a particular skill level. Your results depend on the time you invest, prior experience, and practice habits.
3. Accounts and security
If account access is offered, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
Unless otherwise expressly permitted in writing, you may maintain only one account per person. You may not share your account with others, resell access, or provide login credentials to any third party.
We may require reasonable security measures, including password standards or multi-factor options, to help protect the Service. You agree not to bypass or attempt to bypass any access control or security feature.
4. Pricing, subscriptions, and payments
If you purchase a subscription or paid plan, you agree to pay the price displayed at the time of purchase and any applicable taxes. Plan details, billing cycle length, and included features are described on the Pricing page.
If recurring billing is offered, your subscription renews automatically unless canceled before the next billing date. You are responsible for managing your subscription and keeping payment information current. If a payment fails, we may suspend access until payment is resolved.
Unless stated otherwise at the time of purchase, fees are non-refundable once a billing period starts. This is because access to digital content may be provided immediately. If you believe an error occurred, contact us using the information in the Contact section below.
We may change pricing or plan features in the future. Any changes will apply prospectively, and we will present the updated pricing on the Pricing page. If a change affects an existing subscription, we will provide notice within the Service or by email when feasible.
5. Acceptable use and prohibited activities
You agree to use the Service lawfully and in a way that does not harm the Service, other users, or our rights. The following activities are prohibited:
- Scraping, crawling, or using automated systems to extract content without our prior written permission.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to discover source code or underlying algorithms except where permitted by law.
- Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your affiliation with any individual or organization.
- Uploading, transmitting, or distributing malware, malicious scripts, or content intended to disrupt the Service.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or networks, including credential stuffing or brute-force attacks.
- Spamming, sending unsolicited promotional messages, or using the Service to facilitate mass messaging campaigns.
- Infringing intellectual property rights, including copying course content for publication or resale.
- Using the Service to create or distribute unlawful content, or to encourage illegal activity.
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access as described in the Termination section. We may also cooperate with law enforcement where required by applicable law.
6. Intellectual property and license
The Service and all materials provided through it, including text, graphics, course structures, learning path organization, templates, and website design, are owned by RokCode Academy or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and any applicable payment obligations, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial learning purposes. This license does not permit you to resell access, republish content, or create derivative course products based on our materials.
You may take personal notes and create your own code while learning. Unless a specific resource states otherwise, you may use code you write as part of exercises and projects in your personal portfolio. You are responsible for ensuring that any third-party libraries, frameworks, or assets you use comply with their own licenses.
Any trademarks, logos, and service marks displayed on the Service are the property of RokCode Academy or third parties. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use them without prior written permission.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and conditions, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. Educational content may contain mistakes or may become outdated due to changes in programming tools and practices. We aim to keep materials accurate and updated, but we do not guarantee completeness or currentness.
Any decisions you make based on the Service, including how you implement code, deploy an application, or configure systems, are your responsibility. You should use appropriate testing and security practices before using code in production environments.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RokCode Academy and its officers, employees, contractors, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms is limited to the lower of: (a) the amount you paid to us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred euros (€100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RokCode Academy and its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your infringement of any intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity.
We may assume control of the defense of any matter subject to indemnification, and you agree to cooperate with our defense. You may not settle any claim that imposes any obligation or admission of fault on us without our prior written consent.
10. Third-party links and resources
The Service may reference third-party tools or learning resources as part of programming education. We may also link to documentation for programming languages, frameworks, or platforms. Third-party websites are not controlled by RokCode Academy.
We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party websites. Your use of any third-party website is at your own risk and is subject to the third party’s terms and privacy policies.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and share information, including information collected through forms, cookies, and analytics. The Privacy policy is incorporated by reference into these Terms.
If you submit an email address for updates or support, we use it only as described in the Privacy policy and as necessary to provide the Service you requested. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
12. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Where permitted by law, you and RokCode Academy agree that the courts located in New York County, New York will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service.
Before filing a claim, you agree to attempt informal resolution by contacting us and describing the issue in reasonable detail. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within thirty (30) days of receiving your notice. If the dispute is not resolved within that period, either party may proceed to the courts described above, unless applicable law requires a different process.
Nothing in this section limits either party’s right to seek injunctive or equitable relief to prevent unauthorized use of intellectual property or to address security-related harm.
13. Termination and suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, created a security risk, attempted unauthorized access, or used the Service in a way that could harm other users or our operations.
You may stop using the Service at any time. If you have a subscription, you are responsible for canceling according to the instructions provided on the Pricing page or within your account area if available.
Upon termination, your right to access the Service ends. Sections related to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and any other provisions that by their nature should survive will survive termination.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, legal requirements, or operational practices. Changes will be effective fourteen (14) days after we post the updated Terms on this page, unless a change is required by law to take effect sooner.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
